AmeriCorps VISTA Grant Program

Keep America Beautiful is pleased to announce a new type of grant program that will help build capacity for local and state affiliates. We will be placing seven (7) AmeriCorps VISTA members with affiliates to create or strengthen programs that increase food security, such as creation and maintenance of community gardens, or address long-term recovery from disasters. The VISTA members will serve in an affiliate location for one year with an option to re-apply for another VISTA member the following two years. VISTA activities may include community outreach, volunteer recruitment and training, fundraising and coalition-building, among other things. Through the generous support of Dow, the salaries for these VISTA members to serve are being covered. We may ask affiliates to contribute some in-kind assistance such as occasional meals or help in finding housing if the VISTA is recruited from outside the affiliate region. KAB will assist with recruitment efforts. If you are interested in having a VISTA member work for your affiliate, you can click here to review a PDF of the application information. Please contact Becky Lyons at blyons@kab.org or 203.659.3028 with any questions.
