Keep America Beautiful Hosts 2017 National Conference in Washington, D.C.
Leading Community Improvement Nonprofit Brings Together Community, Civic & Business Leaders to Discuss Best Practices, Strategies to End Littering, Improve Recycling & Beautify America’s Communities
STAMFORD, Conn. (Jan. 23, 2017) – Judith Glaser, founder and CEO of Benchmark Communications, will serve as the keynote speaker at Keep America Beautiful’s National Conference, which takes place Jan. 24-26 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. The Keep America Beautiful National Conference, its annual engagement, education and networking event, will bring together more than 350 leaders from Keep America Beautiful’s national network of state and community-based affiliates, business leaders, policymakers and other experts to share innovative ideas and proven strategies to help advance the iconic nonprofit organization’s efforts to End Littering, Improve Recycling, and Beautify America’s Communities.
The theme of Keep America Beautiful’s 2017 National Conference, borrowed from the Great Seal of the United States of America — ‘E Pluribus Unum…Out of Many, One’ — represents the collective impact of the Keep America Beautiful Affiliate Network, whose more than 620 community-based affiliates work together to serve tens of thousands of communities with a combined population of nearly 120 million people nationwide.
“Keep America Beautiful and our affiliates understand and appreciate the value and positive impact of public-private partnerships,” said Becky Lyons, chief operating officer, Keep America Beautiful. “We believe that the best solutions are discovered when grassroots organizations like ours help bring together citizens, government and industry to work together for the greater good. Our annual National Conference brings us all together to discuss ways in which we will build upon the essential, community-minded work we’ve done since 1953.”
Glaser, who has engaged in decades of research as a social scientist and is the author of “Conversational Intelligence: How Great Leaders Build Trust and Get Extraordinary Results,” will kick off the conference with a presentation about “conversational intelligence,” and how these community leaders can engage with others in their community most effectively.
