The three schools that collect the most aluminum cans by weight will win a recycling trophy and a big pizza party for all students! Winners will be announced on Friday, Nov. 13 after 2:00 p.m. All schools will be paid for the aluminum cans they collect and will be recognized for their participation.

Kids, Cans & Ca$h is an environmental education program provided by the City of High Point and Guilford County. The support of community sponsors, Republic Services of North Carolina, D H Griffin Companies, Adams Sign Service & Repair (Burlington), Lowe’s Home Improvement (N. Main St., High Point) and Little Caesars Pizza (N. Main St. High Point), help to make this program possible.

All elementary schools, public and private, should register by Friday, Oct. 21 to participate, but are encouraged to start collecting their cans now. Once registered, schools will collect aluminum beverage cans to be recycled Monday, Oct. 24 – Thursday, Nov. 10. Schools are encouraged to work with their PTA, local fire departments and civic groups to collect as many cans as possible.
