Here are some of the organizations that support KAB's work through partnerships:

American Forest Foundation

Raising environmental awareness among youth through various educational initiatives, including AFF’s Project Learning Tree GreenSchools and KAB’s Recycle-Bowl K-12 recycling competition.


American Forest & Paper Association
AF&PA provided small, school-based recycling grants to improve the rate of paper recycling. In addition, it provided assistance with KAB’s Waste in Place paper-making activity.

Arbor Day Foundation
Expanding KAB’s experiential learning programs for children through Nature Explore outdoor classrooms and nature-based curricula.

BoatUS Foundation
The BoatUS Foundation, the foundation for the Boat Owners Association of the United States, engaged marina partners in KAB’s Cigarette Litter Prevention Program in an effort to lessen cigarette butt litter in our waterways.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America
Growing the Paper Recycling Program and educating younger generations about KAB’s portfolio of programs.

Earth Day Network 

Earth Day Network promoted youth initiatives, including Recycle-Bowl, and shared affiliate information through its network.


International City/County Management Association  

Share educational resources and programs that benefit community leaders in both organizations, including grants for the Cigarette Litter Prevention Program and Paper Recycling Programs for business-member organizations.


International Downtown Association
Creating healthy and vital urban centers by promoting the Cigarette Litter Prevention Program and Paper Recycling Programs for business-member organizations.

Local Search Association
Working to promote telephone book directory waste reduction as part of the America Recycles Day program.

National Recreation and Park Association

Promoting programs that encourage KAB youth education programs and NRPA’s America’s Backyard, park advocacy and research.

National Wildlife Federation
Identifying opportunities to engage students in grades K-12 students as environmental stewards.


North American Association of Environmental Educators
NAAEE promotes youth initiatives, including Recycle-Bowl, and looks for ways to partner on behavior change topics.

Ocean Conservancy
Working to cross-promote KAB’s signature programs and engage stakeholders in the Great American Cleanup and International Coastal Cleanup.

Pennsylvania Horticulture Society
Working to promote beautification and community greening initiatives by providing resources, training, technical assistance grants and tools for KAB affiliates.

Points of Light Institute
Involving KAB affiliates in nationally-recognized service days and offering volunteer leadership to KAB and its affiliates through resources from HandsOn Network and generation.

Sustainable Urban Forests Coalition
Working with SUFC, an assembly of national organizations working to advance a unified urban forest agenda for our nation's communities, to help plan its annual conference as well as serve on its Vibrant Cities task force.


United States Composting Council
Promoting awareness of the important role composting plays in waste reduction, improved soil structure, improved water quality, and reduced soil erosion by sharing educational resources and collaborating on various programs.

University of Georgia
Building a partnership around eco-feedback recycling bins and mapping on-the-go recycling bins.

United States Department of Agriculture
Working to promote the creation of People’s Gardens, which incorporates sustainable practices such as capturing rainwater, composting and planting native species, and is a collaborative effort among community members.
