Keep America Beautiful Launches “Cars to Donate” Vehicle Donation Program
STAMFORD, Conn. (July 30, 2013) – Keep America Beautiful (KAB), the nation’s leading nonprofit that builds and sustains vibrant communities, today announced that it has partnered with 1Car1Difference to launch a new vehicle donation program. All donations may be eligible for a tax deduction on one’s federal income tax return.
Keep America Beautiful’s vehicle donation program accepts almost any vehicle, including cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles and recreational vehicles. Regardless of the vehicle’s running condition, they still have value through continued use as an operable car, as repair parts that can extend the life of a car or by recycling their steel parts.
"Taking old cars off the road can help the environment by recycling and saving energy,” said Greg Crawford, executive director of the Steel Recycling Institute and a KAB board member. ”Donating these cars can directly help programs such as Keep America Beautiful by providing an additional source of funding. It’s a win-win for sustaining the environment.”
A KAB vehicle donation through 1Car1Difference helps provide funds for KAB and its national network of nearly 600 affiliates and additional partnering organizations to create clean, beautiful public places, reduce waste and increase recycling, generate positive impact on local economies and inspire generations of environmental stewards.
