Connie Librenjak Elected to Keep America Beautiful’s Board of Directors

Keep Riverside Clean & Beautiful Leader to Represent Interests of National Network of Affiliated Organizations

STAMFORD, Conn. (Feb. 20, 2013) — Keep America Beautiful (KAB) announces the appointment of Connie Librenjak, executive director of Keep Riverside Clean & Beautiful (KRCB), to KAB’s national Board of Directors where she’ll represent the interests of KAB’s national network of nearly 600 local affiliates.

“Keep America Beautiful affiliate representatives are essential to serving on our board of directors, providing the on-the-ground perspective that comes from utilizing our programs at the grassroots level,” said Matt McKenna, president and CEO of Keep America Beautiful. “Connie Librenjak has proven to be a strong and efficient director in Riverside. Her experience in nonprofit management and years in private business will provide our board with tremendous insight and direction.”

“It has been a wonderful experience serving the community with Keep Riverside Clean & Beautiful and to be appointed to KAB’s national board is an exciting step forward," said Librenjak. "I look forward to representing affiliates from across the nation and learning more about the KAB organization and their partnerships with the private sector.”

As the executive director of KRCB, Librenjak leads a community volunteer program sponsored by the City of Riverside’s Public Works Department and the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce. Since 1992 the KRCB program provides opportunities for over 10,000 volunteers annually to receive hands-on stewardship with community beautification projects that reduce litter, eradicate graffiti and provide more green space in the City. Through Librenjak’s leadership, KRCB is recognized for distinguishing itself as an exemplary affiliate organization, taking first place in its population category in 2011 in KAB’s annual National Awards program.

Librenjak draws on her experience in diversified sales, marketing and business development strategies to lead an organization that is high on enthusiasm and commitment to its mission. Librenjak also serves the Mayor’s Transportation Accountability Program (TAP), the Green Action Plan Committee (GAP), and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Riverside.
