VISION FOR AMERICA AWARD
Award Criteria
The Vision for America Award is Keep America Beautiful’s most prestigious award for corporate achievement.
The award has been presented annually, since 1986, to companies whose corporate commitment has significantly enhanced civic, environmental and social stewardship throughout the United States. In addition to paying tribute to the honoree, it is a fundraising event for Keep America Beautiful, the nation’s premiere community improvement organization.
Keep America Beautiful recognizes companies who are undertaking significant initiatives in terms of social and environmental stewardship.
Corporations are invited to self-nominate for the Vision for America Award. Companies are judged using four metrics: Environmental Stewardship, Responsible Operations, Corporate Philanthropy, and Memberships and Recognition. Applications should list activities undertaken by the corporation in each of the four areas.

Environmental Stewardship

- Product lifecycle management modularity, upgradeability, take-back programs
- Hazardous substances finding alternative environmentally friendly solutions
- Public education of environmental issues

Responsible Operations

- ISO 14001 Certifications
- Green building design - LEED Certification
- Waste Management reduction of waste streams through intelligent material use and recycling
- Clear Objectives for future improvement
- Reduction of carbon footprint energy efficiencies and purchase of renewable energy
- Sustainable procurement policy
- Working with suppliers to minimize environmental impact.
- Water reduction and quality programs

Corporate Philanthropy
|
- Charitable donations to address issues of global or national significance
- Innovative programs
- Product donations
- Matching Grant programs
- Incentive for volunteerism (time off, donations tied to volunteer hours)

- The Global 100: Most Sustainable Corporations in the World
