Keep America Beautiful

Recycling on the Go: A KAB Symposium

Public Space Recycling: Challenges and Opportunities.

Keep America Beautiful's 2010 Recycling Symposium explored the challenges and opportunities of public space recycling on November 4-5 at the David Brower Center in Berkeley, CA. This invitation-only event of approximately 150 recycling stakeholders featured expert panels from diverse sectors across the nation who explored strategies towards improving recycling performance and changing behavior "away from home."

Over the past year, Keep America Beautiful has been developing a more focused program effort around the issue of recycling in a variety of public venues – public parks, airports, schools, street corners, shopping malls, athletic events, and many others.  Our goal is to bring focus, attention, and interest to key members of the national recycling community as we look to enhance public space recycling in the coming years.  In addition to the panels, attendees had the benefit of networking with knowledgeable peers from the many sectors with a stake in this issue.
