Kickoff Ceremony at Veteran's Memorial
Waveland, Miss.
Keep America Beautiful's Gulf Coast Great American Cleanup kickoff and Hurricane Katrina Restoration Project with Keep Mississippi Beautiful/PAL and new KAB affiliate, Keep Waveland Beautiful. Restoration activities took place at three key sites in Waveland -- Veteran's Memorial area, Gex Park and the Waveland Ballpark, plus other cleanup and greenup activities at the graveyard and along the main streets of the city during a Litter Walk.

The Keep New York City Beautiful Coalition will rally volunteers with a multi-media extravaganza in Times Square. The event featured, among others, Miss America 2009 Katie Stam and Broadway star Jennifer DiNaio of Wicked.

Nashville, Tenn.
Planned activities include a kickoff rally at Tennessee Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, and educational showcase of “green” exhibits and businesses, and volunteer opportunities in the surrounding neighborhoods. This event is being co-hosted by Keep Tennessee Beautiful and Metro Beautification and Environmental Commission. |
