Keep America Beautiful's Gulf Coast Great American Cleanup kickoff and Hurricane Katrina Restoration Project with Keep Mississippi Beautiful/PAL and Keep Harrison County Beautiful. Restoration activities taking place at four key sites in Long Beach with Mayor Skellie participating.

Cancelled Because of Inclement Weather
Washington, D.C.

Representatives from the Mayor's Office as well as the federal government were scheduled to participate in the kickoff celebration, and volunteer activities were to include a wide variety of cleanup, green-up and fix-up activities within close proximity to the staging area.

Great American Cleanup Chicago Kickoff

Kickoff Ceremony Location at Ping Tom Park
Chicago

A Keep Chicago Beautiful-hosted rally and celebration of the Great American Cleanup, along with the City of Chicago, will take place throughout Chicago's many wards. A major river cleanup will be a highlight of the community improvement activities.
