Road to a Cleaner America: As part of Honda's sponsorship of the Great American Cleanup, Honda created the "Road to a Cleaner America," a program focusing on the importance of keeping the streets, roads and highways across America clean.  There are two parts to the Honda "Road to a Cleaner America" program, including three Honda "Road to a Cleaner America" Awards and local Honda dealership participation.  Click here for more information about the program.

Scotts Miracle-Gro's Green Space Program: Scotts Miracle-Gro realizes that green spaces contribute a wealth of benefits to our communities which is why KAB is partnering with The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company this spring to increase the amount of gardens and green spaces in the U.S. during the 2008 Great American Cleanup.  Through past collaborative efforts KAB and Scotts Miracle-Gro have created community green spaces in cities across the country. This year, Scotts Miracle-Gro will expand the program to reach 20-25 cities nationwide. Click here for more information and green space grant application.

Scotts Water Smart Pledge: In an effort to conserve water this spring and summer, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company and Keep America Beautiful have teamed with baseball’s top groundskeeper, David Mellor, on an educational campaign to help homeowners learn the simple steps they can take to help maximize the water-saving benefits of lawns via the Scotts® Water Smart Pledge. By taking the Scotts Water Smart Pledge, homeowners will learn how to grow and maintain a healthy lawn while saving thousands of gallons of water every year. With the Scotts Water Smart Pledge, we’re encouraging you to get your supporters and volunteers involved. Beyond saving water, homeowners who take the Scotts Water Smart Pledge will be entered for the chance to win several great prizes, including the potential to win grant money for your KAB affiliate to build or improve a community green space:

  • Every week for 10 weeks, Scotts will award $1,000 to a KAB affiliate
  • At the end of the 10 week period, one KAB affiliate will win a $10,000 grand prize to put towards building or improving a green space for their community

The weekly winners and grand prize winner are determined based on the number of people who take the “pledge” in your community. So, inform your volunteers about this important program you’ll work together to save water and benefit your community!

Direct your volunteers and supporters to Take the Water Smart Pledge here.

Return the Warmth:  Keep America Beautiful, Aquafina, Pepsi and Sam's Club® bring back "Return the Warmth to your community! "Return the Warmth" is a plastic bottle (PET) recycling contest that closes the loop on recycling during the Great American Cleanup by turning plastic bottles into fleece jackets for children across the country. You're invited to join us in our goal of removing 80 million PET bottles from the environment. Click here for more program information and an application to participate.
