Designing Effective Public Space Recycling Programs
This final interactive program about Recycling On the Go will include a panel of experts sharing their professional judgment on the best practices for recycling at events, venues, parks and other public locations. The panel members responded to photos of real-world recycling situations to highlight the pros and cons of different bin designs, location placement and labeling. Panelists addressed issues such as operational efficiency and ergonomic safety, as well as steps to increase recovery and minimize contamination.

Event Recycling at Large-Scale Sporting Events
The second of Keep America Beautiful's three-part series about "recycling on the go" highlighted large-scale sporting events, paying specific attention to the Rose Bowl, the Super Bowl and the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Even if you do not have one of these large events or event venues in your community, all sorts of good tips and lessons to implement with your smaller event or community venue were presented.

Recycling On the Go Webinar Series, Part I
Learning from the National Experts
The first session of the three-part recycling-on-the-go webinar series included national experts discussing universal best management practices regarding streetscape, venue and convenience store recycling, and information about setting up a Lend-A Bin program.The second part in July will focus on large-scale sporting event recycling, paying specific attention to the Rose Bowl and the Super Bowl. The final part in August will focus on specific case studies from various community-level settings where you will learn from your peers.
The first session featured Scott Pomeroy, Environmental Programs Manager at the Washington DC Business Improvement District, who spoke about the DC BID’s Streetscape recycling program; Tom Waldeck, Executive Director of Keep Phoenix Beautiful, who discussed the success of Keep Phoenix Beautiful’s Lend-A-Bin Program; Ellen Telander, Executive Director with Recycling Association of Minnesota, who shared her successes with convenience center recycling; and David Frame, Strategic Account Executive, Recycling at Coca-Cola, who shared his experiences with Coca-Cola's NASCAR venue recycling initiative.
